Blade Grinding Device
Wind turbine blades can become damaged from a variety of different factors such as lightning strikes. This autonomous blade grinding device, designed and manufactured by a small team including us, serves as a means in performing the first critical step in repairing a damaged blade. This device not only saves technicians countless hours of dangerous, back-breaking grinding, it also achieves the same goal quicker, more accurately, and more safely. The final design of this device has resulted in a patent pursual.
CU Boulder Gemmill Library Book Drop
Engineering Library Book-drop
This project was designed for the Gemmill Engineering library in the math building at The University of Colorado Boulder. It features a steampunk design including nixie tubes as counters to display the number of books in the device. This device was build around ADA requirements and focuses on easy-to-understand usability.
